“28 Years Later” trailer is so gripping it might give you a headache!

28 Years Later — one of the films we can’t wait to see in 2025 and the second sequel to one of the best British horror movies of all time — has released another chilling trailer that will plunge you into existential anxiety and a world of blood. Director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland reunite for this follow-up to 2002’s Cillian Murphy-led 28 Days Later and 2007’s 28 Weeks Later. Set 28 years after the events of the first two films, it stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes.

The film presents a world still plagued by the virus that changed everything. In the trailer, we’re taken to a small fortified island village where life has adapted, sheltered from both the infected and the uninfected. It’s unclear why two villagers need to venture to the mainland, but it certainly appears to be a high-stakes mission.

The remainder of the trailer is an intense, eye-popping, bone-crunching, jump-scare-filled nightmare — reportedly filmed on an iPhone 15 Pro Max — hinting at something truly unsettling. Zombies breaking through stained glass to reach a frenzied priest? Rapid monsters tearing through a field? Piles of skulls that seem unnervingly human-made? I certainly need a headache tablet after that experience.

Mark your calendars: 28 Years Later opens June 20.
