A Heartfelt Message of Love and Encouragement We All Should Embrace – Tiny Buddha
“When you can’t look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark.” ~Unknown
Life often presents us with moments where pain feels all-consuming—where emotions linger, reshape our understanding, and gently invite us to confront aspects of ourselves we may have long avoided. Recently, I found myself enveloped in such a moment.
During this time, I experienced an overwhelming sense of unraveling and isolation, as I sought to make sense of feelings that felt heavy. In the midst of this introspection, I reached out to a close friend—someone who has steadfastly supported me through my highs and lows. I realized that I had not always shown up for them in the way they truly deserved.
This message is more than just a simple letter; it serves as an acknowledgment of the weight we each carry, the incredible journey of healing, and the importance of holding space for those we cherish.
It reminds us that healing does not need to be rushed—that it isn’t about fixing what feels broken, but rather recognizing that we were never truly broken to begin with. Most importantly, it serves as a reminder to my friend, to myself, and to anyone who may feel unseen: you are never truly alone.
Here is my message:
Lately, my days have been filled with sleep, reflection, gentle tears, and soothing music. I’ve found myself retreating from the outside world, moving through my daily activities like a gentle river, flowing through the motions.
I’ve chosen to embrace my emotions, allowing myself to truly feel, even as it sometimes feels daunting. This journey delves deep into raw places, sometimes so heavy that I wonder if I’ll find my way through. Yet, amidst it all, I sense something beautiful is unfolding—a shedding of old layers. It’s painful, yes, but it’s also a form of healing, like a tender growth emerging from the darkness.
I understand this may sound heavy, perhaps even overwhelming, but an old wound has surfaced—a connection to feelings I have carried for a long time. This experience feels like a significant shift, both in my life and within myself.
And here’s what I’ve learned: Pain can coexist with patience. Healing is a process that unfolds in its own time.
Sometimes, we need to allow ourselves to exist within our feelings, even when it feels messy. What I’ve discovered is that we can embrace our sadness without allowing it to define us. By sitting with our emotions, we can learn valuable lessons about who we are, where we have been, and where we are destined to go.
While it’s important not to linger too long in our struggles, there is profound power in honoring our emotions. Allowing ourselves to feel, without judgment or pressure, becomes an act of love and compassion toward our inner selves. It is a reminder that our pain is valid, our journey is meaningful, and we are deserving of love.
Although I will share my complete story when the time feels right, I want you to know that I see you. I deeply appreciate your patience with me during this time, and my love for you runs profound and true.
I recognize how challenging it has been for you—how many moments have felt overwhelming and how old wounds may have resurfaced.
If I could go back, I would have shown up differently for you in each moment you entrusted me with your feelings. I would have ensured you never felt shame for expressing what you felt. Instead of seeking to fix things, I would have sat with you in the discomfort, reminding you that your emotions are not a burden. You are worthy of love, even in your most difficult times.
I now see how crucial it is to create a safe space for someone to fully experience their feelings, without judgment or pressure. I wish I could have provided you that every time, but moving forward, I want to show you that not everyone will let you down or leave your side.
I see all of you—your strength, your tenderness, your beauty, even in life’s hardest moments. Know this without a doubt: you are loved. You are enough just as you are, and I am here for you, always.
I invite you to continue sharing your feelings with me. I will hold space for you in the way you truly deserve, reminding you each day that you are loved and seen. You are not alone in your burdens, and there is no rush to feel “okay.”
Take the time you need. Healing is not about fixing yourself; it’s about recognizing that you were never broken to begin with. It’s okay to feel deeply; it’s a testament to your humanity, your courage, and your ability to love. Be gentle with yourself. Compassion is not only for others; it’s a gift you deserve to be given, especially from yourself.
And remember, no matter how weighty life becomes, you’re not alone, and the road of healing is rarely a straight one.
I’m here, and I’ll continue to show up for you, just as you show up for yourself.
I love you.
