Alchemy Purchases Solana Developer DexterLab for an Unrevealed Amount

Blockchain development platform Alchemy announced its acquisition of Solana developer DexterLab for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition aims to accelerate the development of Solana-based Web3 applications in response to increasing enterprise demand, as indicated in Alchemy’s emailed announcement on Friday.

DexterLab’s technology has previously supported Solana development initiatives for major entities such as Google and the Solana Foundation, positioning it as a key infrastructure provider. One of Alchemy’s goals in acquiring DexterLab is to unify Solana development with that of Ethereum, simplifying the process for projects operating across multiple networks.

Alchemy appears to be focusing on the rising significance of Solana as a leading platform for blockchain applications. While Ethereum remains the larger blockchain in terms of total value locked, Solana is gaining traction in specific metrics. For instance, active addresses on Solana have exceeded 210 million in the past three months, compared to just under 80 million for Ethereum and its Layer-2 solutions. Additionally, Solana has seen a higher volume of transactions, with 4.75 billion transactions compared to Ethereum’s 1 billion.
