Apple’s new CarPlay Ultra is currently exclusive to Aston Martin vehicles, but you can check it out through two videos. Aston Martin has released a short teaser showcasing what CarPlay Ultra looks like integrated into an Aston Martin DBX. The video demonstrates Apple’s UI incorporated not only into the main center display but also into the instrument cluster in front of the driver, a first for this technology.

For a more detailed exploration, Hotnchill offers an overview of the system in a real Aston Martin car. Keep in mind that these vehicles start at approximately $250,000, making it unlikely that most of us will experience this technology firsthand.

The 18-minute video below is definitely worth a watch, highlighting several key features. Notably, while the new Ultra system shares similarities with earlier versions of Apple CarPlay, it effectively takes over the car’s infotainment system. You’ll find familiar Apple user interface elements throughout, from climate controls to navigation and the instrument cluster.

Various themes allow for UI customization; for instance, you can replace the traditional round speedometer with a vibrant line display that shows your speed and remaining fuel. Additionally, you can set up widgets, similar to those on your phone or tablet.

A crucial point to note: once the system is set up, it doesn’t require any further adjustments if you just want to hop into the car and drive, although some features may still require a phone connection. While Aston Martin’s own design touches do appear occasionally, they’re seamlessly integrated into a familiar Apple interface that looks polished. Given that some car manufacturers struggle with their own interface designs, Apple CarPlay Ultra presents a very appealing alternative.
