Apple’s iPhone 17 may see a $50 increase in price.
It’s nearly time for the iPhone launch, and with it comes the familiar flow of speculation about the new devices. Recent reports have surfaced indicating a potential price increase for the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. According to Jefferies analyst Edison Lee (via MacRumors), all the new models—including iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—may see a $50 price rise.
While this information may seem concerning, it’s important to remember that such adjustments often reflect the challenges of rising component costs and tariffs. The report also hints at additional cost considerations from Apple’s manufacturing shift to India, though those factors have not yet been accounted for. Back in May, the Wall Street Journal noted that Apple was exploring price increases without publicly attributing them to external pressures like tariffs.
Currently, the iPhone 16 starts at $799, while the iPhone 16 Pro begins at $999. If the recent report holds true, the iPhone 17 could start at $849, and the iPhone 17 Pro might be priced at $1,049. The iPhone 17 Air, being a new model, makes projections a bit trickier, but early insights suggest it would likely start around $899.
