Today, the alternative tech brand Nothing unveiled its newest budget-friendly Android phone — the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The next evolution in the CMF Phone series (CMF is Nothing’s budget-friendly line) is available for preorder at just $279, with shipping starting May 7. Acquiring one in the U.S. may be a bit trickier, as preorders are currently open only to those enrolled in the Nothing Beta Program. The CMF Phone 2 Pro comes in three colors — orange, black, and white — and offers 256GB of storage. This ultra-thin, affordable Android phone includes impressive features like swappable camera lenses and modular accessories.

Nothing claims this is the thinnest and lightest smartphone they’ve produced, measuring just 7.8 millimeters thick and weighing 6.5 ounces (a half ounce heavier than the iPhone 16). Significant upgrades include a sixth-generation MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, featuring an 8-core CPU with clock speeds of up to 2.5GHz, and it can last for two full days on a single charge.
The device boasts a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and four cameras, including a 50MP main lens, a telephoto lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a front-facing camera. The standout feature is the phone’s optional modular add-ons. Attachments such as fisheye and macro lenses, a case, a lanyard, and a kickstand-wallet combo can be configured in various ways, catering to DIY enthusiasts.

Additionally, Nothing has announced three new pairs of earbuds — the CMF Buds 2, CMF Buds 2 Plus, and CMF Buds 2a. Ranging from $49 to $69, these budget earbuds feature active noise cancellation, spatial audio technology, and water resistance. The 2 Plus variant includes added benefits like hi-Res LDAC support and EQ customization. These earbuds are also available for preorder for those in the Nothing Beta Program.
