Centrifuge Utilizes Wormhole to Unveil a Multichain Tokenization Platform
Real-world asset tokenization platform Centrifuge has launched its latest upgrade, Centrifuge V3, in collaboration with the multichain messaging protocol Wormhole. This new system is designed to simplify the management of tokenized assets for fund managers and investors across multiple blockchains through a unified interface.
The rollout commences with a $230 million fund initiated by Anemoy, a crypto-native asset manager leveraging Centrifuge’s capabilities. This fund focuses on U.S. Treasury securities managed by Janus Henderson, marking it as one of the larger instances of real-world asset tokenization to date.
Centrifuge V3 brings forth “full chain abstraction,” enabling users to invest, administer, and issue tokenized assets without the need for direct interaction with blockchain infrastructure, as detailed in a press release. Wormhole enhances the interoperability of this system, ensuring that tokenized assets on Centrifuge are fully composable and can be utilized within both decentralized finance and institutional platforms.
Centrifuge has seen significant growth over time, having raised $15 million in an oversubscribed fundraising round last year, which facilitated its expansion to the Coinbase layer-2 network, Base.
