Dwayne Johnson leads A24’s The Smashing Machine as MMA icon and UFC champion Mark Kerr, with the first teaser trailer out today. Written and directed by Uncut Gems’ Benny Safdie, the film showcases the Fast and Furious actor and WWE legend as Kerr, tracking his life and career through professional victories and personal struggles, including fight championships and escalating substance abuse. Emily Blunt plays Kerr’s then-wife Dawn Staples, Ryan Bader portrays UFC champion Mark Coleman, and Oleksandr Usyk takes on the role of MMA fighter Igor Vovchanchyn. The Smashing Machine hits cinemas Oct. 3.
