Your emoji options could change appearance on Android in the near future.

Get ready for your emoji experience to change if you use Gboard on an Android phone. Google’s emoji keyboard is undergoing a design update aimed at making things cleaner and easier to navigate. Gboard has removed the “All” interface, replacing it with redesigned emoji, sticker, and GIF icons that are now larger and more clearly defined.

Hotnchill has noted this change and provides visuals showcasing the differences. Currently, these updates are available in Gboard’s latest beta version.

You can see on the new Gboard, on the right, that the bottom buttons are bigger and easier to select.

Additionally, there are some other minor adjustments, such as a flat toolbar instead of an elevated one. Overall, the changes are subtle but could lead you to think, “Hmm, this is different!” when you search for emojis.

So your emoji world won’t be completely transformed, but it might feel a bit different.
