An English singer has unfortunately had to cancel a gig due to illness just hours before he was set to perform. Rag’n’Bone Man, whose real name is Rory Charles Graham, initially captured attention in 2016 with his powerful single “Human.” His debut album of the same name quickly became the fastest-selling debut album by a male artist in the UK for the decade.
The 40-year-old from Eastbourne was honored as the British breakthrough act at the Brit Awards, also receiving recognition for his best British single. Since then, he has delighted audiences with two more albums and has been performing across Europe throughout the summer. However, he has had to cancel his latest show, scheduled for tonight in Lithuania.
A heartfelt statement shared on his Instagram today conveyed: ‘Show cancellation today. We’re deeply sorry to inform you that today’s concert in Kaunas has been canceled as Rag’n’Bone Man has unfortunately fallen ill. He is currently seeking medical care, and we wish him a swift recovery. We know many of you were looking forward to the show and may have made special plans; we truly appreciate your understanding during this time.’
Rory will be disappointed to cancel this performance and is eager to schedule a new date in Lithuania soon.
The post also noted: ‘Today’s concert in Kaunas has been canceled due to Rag’n’Bone Man unfortunately falling ill. For ticket refunds, please reach out to your ticket distributor or the point of sale from which you purchased.’
The musician is slated to perform in Poland at the Bittersweet Festival in Poznań later this week. Fans have quickly sent their best wishes for his recovery, expressing their support.
One fan commented, ‘We were about to leave home and drive to Kaunas when I got the email. Very sad news, but Rory’s health is more important. Get better.’ Another shared, ‘Take care, and we’re waiting for you.’ One more added, ‘Wishing you a speedy recovery!’
In a past conversation with Clash, he reflected on his passion for touring: ‘I think I just enjoy doing loads! I take on as much as possible to make this work. It is exhausting… but I love playing live. So, if you have to get up early and tackle the challenging parts, that’s just the way it has to be. I’ve always loved it, and I still feel that way now – I don’t feel any different than I did 10 years ago, to be honest.’
