In a beautiful harmony of sounds, two iconic figures from New Orleans unite to create something truly special. Galactic, a band that has brought joy and rhythm to The Big Easy for over 30 years, collaborates with the beloved Irma Thomas, known for her captivating voice and timeless influence. Her rendition of “Time is On My Side” once inspired The Rolling Stones, embracing the essence of soul and resilience.
Their collaborative album, titled Audience With the Queen, features eight original compositions crafted with love and care, thoughtfully written with Thomas in mind. In an uplifting exchange, Galactic’s Robert Mercurio and Irma Thomas reflect on the creative journey of bringing this project to life. They share touching insights about the effort that went into preparing the studio, only to discover that the true magic was already present.
