How to Display Any App on the Cover Screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7, its latest flip-style foldable smartphone, during the Summer 2025 Samsung Unpacked event. This new device showcases a significant advancement in design, featuring the largest cover screen on a foldable yet at an impressive 4.1 inches. However, there are some limitations, as Samsung has restricted the types of apps that can be accessed on the cover screen.

In contrast to its closest competitor, Motorola, which allows users to run nearly any app on its cover screen, Samsung’s current limitations mean users cannot fully personalize their experience. With a more open approach, you could effortlessly check messages or enjoy quick actions and videos without even opening the device. If Samsung were to enable users to customize their front screen, the 4.1-inch display could be utilized more frequently, leading to longer battery life.

While Samsung has curated a list of vetted apps deemed suitable for the cover display, the company has also offered a pathway for users to broaden their selection, albeit with a few steps involved.

To unlock the cover screen on your Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, follow these calming steps:

• Navigate to Settings -> Advanced Features -> Labs
• Toggle the switches next to Multi window for all apps, Use main screen navigation on cover screen, and Apps allowed on cover screen (Labs).
• Select the last option, Apps allowed on cover screen.
• Select Get MultiStar.
• If prompted, agree to the privacy notice from the Galaxy Store.
• Select Install.
• Once installed, press the back button (or use the swipe gesture to return).
• Select Get MultiStar again.
