Home Depot Reveals Its 2025 Halloween Collection: Welcome Back, Skelly!

For those who cherish the Home Depot’s beloved 12-foot skeleton, the first “Code Orange” of the year is just around the corner. On Tuesday, the Home Depot announced that its 2025 Halloween collection will debut next month, featuring the return of “Skelly,” along with two captivating new pets. The full collection will be available online and in the Home Depot app on Monday, August 4, with select items appearing in stores later this fall around Labor Day.

“This year’s collection has something for everyone,” said Aubrey Horowitz, the Home Depot’s decorative holiday merchant. “Whether you’re a Halloween enthusiast expanding your collection or a family beginning new traditions, we’ve blended creativity, quality, and value to make your celebrations even more enchanting.”

Next week’s launch marks the home improvement retailer’s first Halloween reveal of the year. Although a planned “Halfway to Halloween” drop was canceled in April, causing some disappointment among collectors, there’s excitement building for this collection.

Overall, the 2025 Halloween collection promises intriguing surprises, bringing joy to those who look forward to such seasonal festivities.

Skelly leads the Home Depot’s signature “Grave & Bones” collection for the sixth year, maintaining its usual price of $299. This year, it’s joined by a delightful 5-foot-tall Doberman-style Sitting Skelly’s Dog with moving LCD “LifeEyes” ($249) and a lively 5-foot-long Skelly’s Cat ($199). The requests for the cat were particularly heartfelt, according to Horowitz. Additionally, the immensely popular seven-foot-long Skelly’s Dog ($199), which debuted in 2024, will see an online-only restock alongside the new pets.

Completing the Skelly family is a new 6.5-foot animated Ultra Skelly ($279), equipped with Bluetooth support. This innovative feature allows users to play recorded messages or control it in real-time from their smartphones. Horowitz expressed her excitement over this item, highlighting that such technology is refreshing for the Halloween market.

“He’s completely customizable, so you can interact with him live and truly surprise your trick-or-treaters on Halloween,” she explained. “You can adjust his lights and movements. With 18 different eye settings, he’s perfect for any celebration — Halloween, New Year’s, you name it. He can be a delightful year-round fixture.”

The Home Depot is also introducing a new woodland-inspired “Gruesome Grounds” collection that features the “Worricrow” and “Gally Crow,” two light-up, motion-activated 15-foot figures with impressive 12-foot arm spans — the largest animatronics to date. Priced at $399, the Gally Crow will be available exclusively online.

While the exact time for the Halloween release on August 4 remains unspecified, past experiences suggest that listings typically go live around 6 a.m. ET, with featured items available while supplies last.

Though August might feel a bit early for a Halloween rollout, it is quite timely by the Home Depot’s standards. In recent years, the retailer launched select props and animatronics in April ahead of its complete mid-July lineup, making this launch particularly noteworthy.

The decision to change the launch schedule has indeed stirred conversation among Halloween fans, who have speculated about various reasons. Yet, the anticipation for this year’s collection brings a sense of joy and excitement for all who celebrate the season.
