‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ teaser hints at returning characters and new horror.

Five teenagers, a coastal car accident, and an attempted cover-up serve as the familiar setup for the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer movie. However, the latest installment of the franchise (which moves beyond the underwhelming TV series) is not merely a reboot – it’s a sequel featuring some beloved characters. In the trailer, the hooded, fish hook-wielding antagonist returns to embark on another killing spree in Southport, and this time, the guilty teens might receive assistance from survivors of the 1997 massacre, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.). The cast also includes Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Jonah Hauer-King, and Chase Sui Wonders. I Know What You Did Last Summer premieres exclusively in theaters on July 18.
