iOS 27 is said to prioritize features for foldable iPhones.
iOS 26 may be just around the corner, but Apple is gently turning its gaze toward iOS 27 — and its much-anticipated foldable iPhone. In Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, it’s shared that Apple is focusing on the development of iOS 27 with features specifically designed for this forthcoming foldable device, which is expected to make its debut next year. Even with this change in focus, Gurman reassures users that there’s no need for concern about a lack of user interface innovation in iOS 27.

The foldable iPhone is anticipated to be a premium product, with an estimated price around $2,000, as mentioned by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. It is expected to forego Face ID in favor of Touch ID for a more compact design and will have a book-style fold, different from Samsung’s flip-style approach.
Gurman indicates that Apple’s design choices are influenced by the preferences observed in the Chinese market, where book-style foldables have garnered greater popularity.
