New Video Leak Shows the iPhone 17 Air Appearing Exceptionally Slim

A new video purportedly showcases what the iPhone 17 Air will look like in your hands. Spoiler alert: You’ll definitely want to check it out. The rumored super-thin model of the upcoming iPhone 17 appeared in dummy model form in a recent video from Unbox Therapy. In the video, host Lewis George Hilsenteger examines dummy models allegedly sourced from manufacturers in China for various new iPhones, but the iPhone 17 Air is the one that stands out. If this leak is genuine, the Air might be even thinner than anticipated.

At its smallest point, it measures 5.65mm thick, making it remarkably slim compared to the 8.75mm Pro Max model. For perspective, that’s even thinner than a pencil, if you can recall what those are.

Hilsenteger expresses concern about the potential for the phone to bend, but that aspect won’t be verifiable until the actual device is in users’ hands. (And if you’ve ever been curious about bending your iPhone, there are also recent discussions about foldable iPhones worth looking into.) At this time, the authenticity of this particular leak hasn’t been confirmed.

As earlier rumors have indicated, the iPhone 17 Air seems to compromise some hardware features to achieve such thinness. This likely means it will have just one camera lens and could feature a smaller battery capacity. Recently, leaks and rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 have been surfacing rapidly. Just this week, there was a report indicating that the iPhone 17 Pro may offer new opportunities for case customization due to an enlarged camera bar. Additionally, Apple is reportedly planning a budget “e” model iPhone, which could be part of the annual iPhone release schedule. Despite the reduction in camera features, an ultra-thin iPhone could undoubtedly emerge as the most stylish option, especially if it fits easily in your pocket—can you envision that? All will be unveiled in September, as usual.
