Katy Perry penalized for unauthorized music video filming in Spain.
Katy Perry’s music video for LIFETIMES has recently stirred some discussions (Picture: John Salangsang/Shutterstock). It has been reported that she was fined over £5,000 after filming in a protected area of Spain without the necessary permissions.
The talented artist, 40, filmed scenes for her single, LIFETIMES, in Ses Salines Natural Park on the Balearic Islands in July 2024. Following the shoot, environmental advocates raised concerns, noting that some scenes were captured on the dune of s’Espalmador, which is considered a sensitive area that requires strict protection.
Investigations revealed that the filming crew did not secure the necessary permit from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Natural Environment, rendering their filming unauthorized. Consequently, Perry and her team were assessed a fine of €6,001 (£5,197), which has been settled.
Officials have stated that although Perry’s actions were viewed as serious, they found no evidence of lasting damage to the environment, and she will not incur further penalties. The natural park encompasses areas in Ibiza and Formentera, as well as the waters surrounding them.
This comes at a time when the esteemed pop icon has been the subject of heightened attention concerning her relationship with Orlando Bloom, amidst speculation of their separation. The couple, who began their journey together in 2016 and welcomed their daughter in 2020, have not directly addressed the rumors. However, representatives have confirmed that they have been transitioning their relationship to focus on co-parenting.
In a statement to the media, it was shared: ‘Due to the abundance of recent interest, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been adjusting their relationship over the past several months to prioritize co-parenting.’
The statement also emphasized: ‘They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.’
Katy has recently been noticed enjoying a pleasant dinner date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who made an appearance at her Montreal concert as well.
Earlier this year, Katy also received mixed reactions after taking part in an all-female Blue Origin flight. Alongside notable figures like TV host Gayle King and NASA aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, Katy was seen holding a flower in tribute to her daughter, Daisy, and expressing her emotions as she floated in the cabin. Upon her return, she harmoniously held the daisy to the sky and embraced the earth beneath her.
