Titled Long Story Short, Bob-Waksberg’s new series offers his unique spin on the animated family sitcom. The new trailer introduces the Schwooper siblings: Avi, Shira, and Yoshi. Not only do they have a charming last name, but they are also brought to life by an incredible cast: Superstore’s Ben Feldman, Broad City’s Abbi Jacobson, and New Girl’s Max Greenfield. The series playfully moves through time, chronicling the trio’s childhoods and adult lives, along with the triumphs and challenges that weave their stories together.
The show’s first trailer provides an endearing glimpse into the Schwoopers’ lively and relatable family dynamic, showcasing everything from imperfect game nights to playful backseat squabbles. The humor is balanced with surprising moments, such as Shira asking Avi to be her partner’s sperm donor during a school Christmas play. Location truly shapes the experience!
If the trailer and Bob-Waksberg’s creative touch have resonated with you, there’s even more uplifting news. First, the series reunites Bob-Waksberg with beloved talents from BoJack, including supervising producer Lisa Hanawalt (who has skillfully designed art for both Long Story Short and BoJack), along with executive producers Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen, and co-executive producers Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley.
Additionally, Long Story Short has already received a renewal for a second season from Netflix, even before the show’s premiere! This is a positive sign for those who are already eager to see more of the enchanting Schwoopers.
Long Story Short also features talents like Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Angelique Cabral, Nicole Byer, Dave Franco, and Michaela Dietz. The show is set to grace Netflix on August 22.
