We’re looking for individuals who are making significant scientific discoveries and utilizing that knowledge to develop new technologies. This includes those engineering new systems and algorithms that will enhance our capabilities.

Each year, many honorees focus on improving human health or tackling major challenges such as climate change; others are paving the way for the future of artificial intelligence or creating the next generation of robots.

The most successful candidates will have achieved a notable advancement expected to positively impact areas beyond their own field. They should be the primary scientific or technical driver behind the work involved, and we appreciate evidence that a candidate’s innovation is gaining real traction. You can reference previous honorees to understand what we seek.

We welcome self-nominations, and if you previously nominated someone who wasn’t selected, feel free to nominate them again. Please note: To be eligible for the 2026 list, nominees must be under the age of 35 as of October 1, 2026.

Semifinalists will be notified by early March and asked to complete an application at that time. Winners are then determined by the editorial staff of Hotnchill, with input from a panel of expert judges. (For more details about our selection process and timelines, please refer to our guidelines.)
