Noughties Stars Unintentionally Reveal Performance at Glastonbury 2025
Glastonbury 2025 is just a few months away, and announcements are still coming in.
Rizzle Kicks have revealed they will be performing at Glastonbury Festival this year. The duo, consisting of Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sulé, are yet to officially confirm their Worthy Farm appearance, but the news slipped during a livestream. Jordan recently appeared on Arsenal’s YouTube channel, where he was caught off-guard by a comment from radio host Roman Kemp.
Kemp casually stated, ‘You’re playing Glastonbury this year,’ and Jordan quickly responded, ‘I haven’t actually announced that yet…’ A rather awkward moment indeed.
For fans eager to see the duo live, they have several opportunities this year, including shows in Brighton in May, London’s Somerset House, Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl in July, and The Cotswolds’ Big Feastival in August.
Jordan and Harley Alexander-Sule are set to take the stage at the Worthy Farm festival, joining confirmed headliners like The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo. The 2025 festival lineup promises to be a nostalgic experience for many, featuring acts such as Franz Ferdinand, the Scissor Sisters, Kaiser Chiefs, The Script, The Libertines, Fatboy Slim, and The Maccabees.
The festival also boasts talents like Charli XCX, Doechii, and newcomer Lola Young. However, tickets are officially sold out with limited options remaining, such as volunteering opportunities.
As Emily Eavis has shared the lineup for the Woodsies stage, Acoustic stage, West Holts stage, Shangri-La, and Silver Hayes, more acts are still to be announced, with over 2,000 artists expected at the Somerset festival. Fans are also speculating about this year’s secret set, following last year’s surprise performance by Kasabian.
Potential surprise acts include HAIM, The Cure, Mumford and Sons, Sam Fender, and Green Day, although the official confirmation will only come on the day of the festival.
Reflecting on their career and comeback, Jordan mentioned in a recent interview: ‘When we were at our peak around 2012, it was an amazing time, but there was a different perception of “coolness” back then. The positioning and expectations were quite distinct, which has changed over time. Joyfulness was often overlooked by self-professed hip hop purists who didn’t consider us aligned with what they saw as the true spirit of hip hop.’
Now, in 2025, following a pandemic, Brexit, and a shifting global landscape, Rizzle Kicks believe they bring a needed sense of joy. Jordan shared, ‘It’s actually cooler now to be joyful, as it feels more scarce, making our positive vibe more valuable.’
Rizzle Kicks aren’t the only ones hinting at their Glastonbury appearance prematurely; Example also recently teased his participation. The artist, known as Elliot Gleave, shared a list of upcoming shows on his social media, which included a pixelated date on June 27—conveniently aligning with Glastonbury.
