Connections is one of the most popular word games that has captured the public’s attention. The game is all about finding the “common threads between words.” And just like Wordle, Connections resets after midnight, with each new set of words becoming progressively trickier. What is Connections?
The latest daily word game has become a social media hit. The Times credits associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu with creating this engaging word game and incorporating it into the publication’s Games section. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words that share a common theme.
Each puzzle features 16 words, and each grouping of words must be split into four categories. These could include anything from book titles and software to country names. Although multiple words may seem to fit together, there is only one correct answer. If players correctly identify all four words in a set, those words will be removed from the board. However, guessing incorrectly counts as a mistake, and players have a maximum of four mistakes before the game ends.
Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to make spotting connections easier. Additionally, each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Similar to Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
