NYT Connections Sports Edition: Clues and Solutions for May 14, 2025
Here’s the revised content with neutral language and without external promotional call-to-actions:
Connections: Sports Edition is a new version of the popular New York Times word game designed to challenge the knowledge of sports fans. Like the original Connections, the game focuses on finding the "common threads between words." Similar to Wordle, Connections resets after midnight, making each new set of words progressively trickier. We've prepared some hints and tips to help you overcome any challenges. If you’d like to see today’s puzzle solution, you can find it at the end of this article. However, if you prefer solving it yourself, keep reading for clues, tips, and strategies to assist you.
What is Connections Sports Edition? The NYT's latest daily word game has launched in collaboration with The Athletic, the New York Times property covering sports. Connections can be played on both web browsers and mobile devices, requiring players to group four words that have something in common.
Each puzzle features 16 words, divided into four categories. These groupings can include anything from book titles and software to country names. While multiple words may seem to fit together, there’s only one correct combination. If a player guesses all four words correctly, those words are removed from the board. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes—players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game concludes.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to identify connections more easily. Furthermore, each group is color-coded: yellow is the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
