Steph Curry is trying out Fitbit’s screenless alternative to Whoop.
Curious about Fitbit’s new screenless fitness tracker that resembles Whoop? You might want to tune into Golden State Warriors games or take a peek at the Instagram of NBA star Steph Curry. Recently, Curry shared a glimpse of this intriguing fitness tracker in a sponsored post with Google, the parent company of Fitbit. Accompanied by short clips of him using the device, his caption playfully hints, “I won’t spoil it. You kinda have to see it for yourself .”
As noted by Droid Life, Curry has been seen with this wrist-worn tracker in various public settings over the last few months. On April 15, photographers captured him donning the device before a match against the LA Clippers at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, allowing us a closer look at the sleek grey-and-orange design.

While the device remains unnamed, it is confirmed to be a screenless fitness tracker from Google. According to a Bloomberg report from March 31, Google is in the process of developing this specific type of band for Fitbit, with Curry playing a role in its promotion. The report also suggested that the tracker would include a subscription service for additional features, along with an AI-powered personal health coach integrated into the Fitbit app.
This new device bears a striking resemblance to the well-regarded Whoop fitness tracker, which has undergone extensive real-world testing. Unlike traditional devices like the Google Pixel Watch 4 or standard Fitbits, this tracker’s absence of a screen encourages users to disconnect and focus on their wellness. Its battery life is notably longer, making it a great companion for tracking sleep, too. The latest insights suggest that it is slightly slimmer than Whoop’s design. While no specific launch date has been disclosed, aside from the indication of “later this year,” Curry’s frequent use of the device in public suggests we may see its arrival sooner than anticipated.
