Taylor Swift’s latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ has fans on the hunt for clues.

Taylor Swift announced her upcoming 12th studio album on Tuesday, and the excitement has already begun among her dedicated fans. The pop icon appeared in a clip from her partner Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, revealing her latest era, The Life of a Showgirl, by unveiling a blurred-out vinyl from a personalized suitcase. The post was timed for 12:12 a.m. on Aug. 12 to mark the release of Swift’s 12th album, following The Tortured Poets Department released in April 2024. “So, I wanted to show you something,” she shared with Kelce and his co-host brother Jason Kelce. “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”

On Monday, Swift offered a glimpse of her album on Instagram with a carousel of images from her historic Eras Tour, captioned, “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ” Each image features Swift in an orange-hued costume, now representative of The Life of a Showgirl’s brand palette. Expect to see plenty of orange in your feeds soon. The Empire State Building, alongside Swift’s social media pages and official site, has embraced the album’s vibrant orange and greenish cyan theme. Fans can now preorder the vinyl, cassette, or CD versions.

Preorders are set to ship before Oct. 13; however, the release date for The Life of a Showgirl has yet to be revealed.

Spotted by Billboard, Swift also launched a Spotify playlist named And, baby, that’s show business to accompany Tuesday’s announcement. The playlist contains 22 songs from Swift’s previous albums, including Red, 1989, and reputation, all produced by Max Martin and Shellback, possibly hinting at their collaboration on The Life of a Showgirl.

In true Swiftie fashion, fans are diving deep into speculation around the new album. Some are connecting remarks Swift made during the Eras Tour while inviting Sabrina Carpenter onstage with recent posts from Carpenter, suggesting her potential involvement on the album.
