Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová share a beautiful journey marked by creativity and connection. Initially, their collaboration blossomed in 2006 with the release of their first album as The Swell Season. Their bond deepened as they became co-stars in the enchanting film Once, a touching story of two musicians entwined in love and artistry. During the filming, their hearts intertwined, leading them to an Oscar for their heartfelt original song, “Falling Slowly.” This whirlwind of experiences occurred within a couple of years, filling their lives with moments of intensity and joy.

Though their romantic relationship transformed over time, the creative harmony they share as songwriters has remained steadfast. Today, they re-enter the musical landscape with a soothing new album, titled Forward, released on June 13, marking their first offering in 16 years. This album invites us to embrace the idea of moving forward, both as artists and as individuals.
