Tokenized Stocks May Reach $1 Trillion in Market Capitalization, According to Executives
Tokenized stocks are expected to surpass $1 trillion in market capitalization in the coming years as adoption increases, two industry executives announced at the TokenizeThis conference in New York. The total addressable market for tokenized stocks—a category of tokenized real-world assets (RWA)—is challenging to estimate but is “definitely a bigger trillion-dollar market,” stated Arnab Naskar, CEO of STOKR, during an April 16 panel at the event. By 2025, there has been an “explosion” of demand for these instruments from a variety of institutions, including Web3 wallets, neobanks, and traditional financial services firms, according to Anna Wroblewska, Chief Business Officer of Dinari. “We’ve had an enormous influx of demand from a much broader range of potential partners than you might even imagine […] it’s actually been really interesting,” added Wroblewska.

Growing market share
As of April 18, tokenized stocks had a cumulative market capitalization of approximately $350 million, as per data from RWA.xyz. This is merely a fraction of the total RWA market, which exceeds $18 billion. However, this scenario could evolve as tokenized stocks attract a larger share of the US equities market, according to Wroblewska. The US stock market is valued at over $50 trillion, according to Siblis Research. “There is a huge appetite for US public equities… even individual investors globally seek exposure to US capital markets. Tokenization makes it fast and cost-effective,” remarked Wroblewska. She noted that tokenized US Treasury Bills are already in high demand for similar reasons, currently comprising nearly $6 billion in total market cap, according to RWA.xyz data. Moreover, Coinbase is exploring the possibility of offering tokenized shares of its stock on Base, its Ethereum layer-2 network.
Overall, tokenized RWAs represent a global market opportunity valued at $30 trillion, as shared by Colin Butler, Movement Labs’ global head of institutional capital, in an August interview. “Tokenization will become a mirror of the market. If the user experience is better, faster, and cheaper, people will gravitate towards tokenized assets,” Wroblewska concluded.
