The Wanted member shares thoughts on ‘challenging moments’ following revelation of hidden feud by fans.

The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes has shared insights about the complexities within the boyband. Formed in 2009, the group—consisting of Jay McGuinness, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, and the late Tom Parker—went their separate ways in 2014 to explore solo ventures.
In 2021, The Wanted reunited, coinciding with Parker’s battle against a brain tumour. Tragically, he passed away in 2022 at the young age of 33.
Despite their immense success and a slew of hit singles, Sykes revealed that beneath the surface, tensions existed among the members. There was hope that their reunion could mend past rifts. In a conversation with The Sun, Sykes mentioned that during their initial split, the members were not on speaking terms.
He expressed his sentiments about reuniting again in the future, especially as George and Kaneswaran have been touring under the name The Wanted 2.0.

Nathan Sykes remarked that looking back can be both fulfilling and difficult. “I think being content in where you are at in life and accepting things because they’ve happened, that’s part of growing up,” he reflected. “Everyone faces challenges, and I feel incredibly fortunate for the unforgettable moments I had with the band. It’s essential for me to process any difficulties that arose during that time.”

Sykes added that he wouldn’t trade his experiences for anything, especially considering the time spent with Parker before his passing. Despite past challenges, he maintains a strong bond with McGuinness, who attended Sykes’s wedding to partner Charlotte Burke last month. “We naturally gravitated towards each other given our similar ages when we started,” he explained. “I genuinely feel there’s no bad blood on my end. If anyone reached out for support, I believe we would all be there for each other.”
Sykes described their recent reunion tour as a “healing experience,” reflecting on how meaningful it was to have that time with Parker before his tragic departure.
In light of recent fan observations about George and Sykes unfollowing each other on social media, Sykes was reportedly unaware of this shift. A fan shared their thoughts on Reddit, recalling past instances where band members unfollowed each other but later reconnected when Parker’s diagnosis was announced.
In recent months, George has openly discussed his recovery journey following heart surgery, which emphasized the importance of health and connection among friends.
