“Advanced Chat Privacy,” which is available for both one-on-one and group chats, prevents users from exporting chats, auto-downloading media, and utilizing messages for AI features.
According to WhatsApp, “groups are increasingly an extension of our real-world networks, some of which are far closer than others.” They suggest that this feature is particularly useful for discussions in groups where members may not know each other well but share sensitive topics, such as health challenges in a support group or organizing community efforts.
