As of now, Netflix hasn’t revealed any plans for a second season of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. This aligns with the show’s initial vision as a limited series. Yet, there have been instances where beloved miniseries found new life in subsequent seasons. Some may think of titles like Big Little Lies or The White Lotus, or even Netflix’s own anthology series, Beef. Could Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen find a similar path?

In a conversation with TheWrap, series creator Haley Z. Boston shared that while the door for a Season 2 is open, it would likely take a different shape. “There is an open thread, but this was so inspired by my own fear that I’m going to need another existential fear to explore,” Boston explained. “I think we’re done with the wedding theme.”
