YouTube is trying out collaboration features for creators akin to those on Instagram and TikTok.

The social media landscape continues to evolve, and now, YouTube is introducing an exciting feature that enhances collaboration. A recent post from a Google employee on YouTube Help reveals that the platform is testing a new capability for creators to tag collaborators directly in their videos. This advancement will simplify the process for viewers to discover and follow these talented individuals.

This initiative reflects similar collaboration tools already embraced by TikTok and Instagram, where joint posts and tags help increase visibility for everyone involved.

Live streaming on Instagram now requires 1,000 followers.

Currently, this feature is being introduced to a select group of trusted creators, with plans for broader rollout in the future. The first instance of this feature in use can be observed in a recent upload by MrBeast, where he collaborated with creators Mark Rober, Ben Azelart, and the Stoke Twins.

Visual demonstration indicates that the feature operates similarly to that of Instagram and TikTok: viewers can click on the main creator’s name to reveal a pop-up showcasing all tagged collaborators, each accompanied by a subscribe button. As with those platforms, it’s likely that collaborators will need to accept an invitation before they are officially recognized as co-authors on the video.
